Katy deserves 10 stars even though ratings are normally 1-5. From start to finish, and beyond, she kept me informed minute-to-minute, every day, every detail, etc. via phone calls, texts, and emails. She is exceptional in my opinion in service to her clients. Although I can only speak for myself, I can’t imagine she doesn’t treat all clients the same. I feel deep gratitude to her not only for her attentiveness regarding the sale; but, I was also dealing with the recent death of my younger sister and other estate matters to which she showed immense compassion as well. I am writing to tell you about my experience as a client of Katy Walstra. As with anyone who does their work in a way that makes a difference, I learned that Katy's work is an expression of the values she carries. Katy is the sort of person that we hope to meet when we reach out for assistance to any professional, because she is the sort of person we hope to meet period.
The sale of my cabin was difficult for several reasons. It was not a high dollar transaction, but more of a novelty that would tempt many realtors to put it on the back burner. Katy went all out to market the property in its best light. She was persistent in recognizing its value and to whom that value would matter. She staged the cabin to evoke the life that one would have in relation with the cabin. She maintained regular communication and was thorough in handling details.
Due to the novelty of my cabin, finding a buyer took longer than usual. After an offer came and was accepted, the buyer, and therefore we, had a difficult and long struggle due to the buyer's uncooperative lenders and underwriters. Through the process Katy revealed both her capacity to empathize with the circumstances from all sides, and her tenaciousness when it was time to push on what needed pushing. She was supportive, authentic, and accurate when we needed to strategize regarding what was happening and how to handle it.
